We are thrilled to share the latest updates on the Clare County 4-H Property at Bungo Lake, now officially named the 4-H Ranch. The site has undergone significant enhancements, making it a fantastic destination for clubs and families involved in Clare County 4-H.
Recent Upgrades Include:
Improved Access Road: A smoother, more accessible route off Bungo Lake Rd.
Two New Pavilions: Perfect for gatherings and activities.
Fishing and Kayaking Dock: Ready for water adventures.
Port-a-John: Added convenience for visitors.
The 4-H Ranch is turning into a great spot for families to explore, learn, and make lasting memories. This is an exciting new chapter for Clare County 4-H!

Time: 6:00 PM
Location: 792 Bungo Lake Rd. Harrison, MI 48625
Directions to the Ranch:
Starting Point: J&D Marathon on Jefferson
Route: Drive west for 8/10 mile on Jefferson. Continue straight past the curve for Finley Lake Rd. to Pine Street. Turn left on Pine Street and follow the left fork to Bungo Lake Rd. If you reach where the the pavement end on Jefferson, turn and ang go back to Pine Street. Follow Bungo Lake Rd. to the bend where it becomes Oak Street. Look for the open gate with a forestry management sign and follow the two-track through the grassy staging area to the pavilion and port-a-john.
Parking: Available near the pavilion and port-a-john with a short walk to the lake.
Note: Cell service is limited around the lake.
A special thank you goes to Matt McPhall and Randy Schuldt for their invaluable help alongside Lee Schunk in setting up the dock. Their hard work made this substantial task achievable. Lee also cleared areas for the pavilions and ensured sufficient parking spaces near the lake.
You are Part Owner of the 4-H Ranch As a Clare County 4-H participant, either as an active adult volunteer, parent or youth member you are part owner of the 4-H Ranch!
To ensure that you remain an active participant make sure to complete your annual youth membership enrollment on 4-H Online or maintain your adult 4-H volunteer status on Volunteer Central. More Updates to Come!
